DLFM strives to promote the local economy and camaraderie by:
* providing fresh, local, high quality food, plants, and hand-crafted products to the
community.
* providing a venue for local farmers and producers to sell their products
* creating a meeting place for the community
Some products at DLFM are "organic", which means:
They have been produced without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, growth hormones, or
additives. A certifier (such as Oregon Tilth) verifies the product meets federal standards as
well as any additional standards of their certifying agency. An inspector visits the growing
and processing areas annually. The grower/producer is required to keep diligent records
of all farm inputs and activities.
Naturally grown or chemical free is a label a grower can freely give to their product.
The grower is promising you similar growing conditions to "organic," but without the
expense of being certified.
